Lately, I’ve been trying to romanticize my life a little more. Instead of rushing through the day, I slow down and enjoy small rituals—making tea, journaling, going to Pilates, and dressing cute even if I’m just going to the gym.
It’s my version of a soft girl era… but for women in their 40s.

There’s something powerful about creating beauty in your everyday life. It doesn’t require luxury or perfection. It’s about being intentional with the way you move through your day and choosing small moments that make you feel good.
Starting the Day with Calm
Starting my morning with a warm cup of tea and my journal instantly puts me in a better mood. It helps me slow down and appreciate the day ahead, regardless of what errands or responsibilities I have.
I also like to visualize the life I want to live. Whether I’m heading to Pilates, yoga, or a simple gym workout, I imagine myself as that refined, aesthetically put-together woman. Visualization is powerful. When you start to see yourself living your dream life, you begin to move through the world differently.
Nourishing Your Body

Prioritizing nutrition is one of the easiest ways to support both your health and your appearance.
I like to keep fresh fruit around because it’s refreshing, filling, and helps me avoid heavier snacks that leave me feeling bloated. If you’re a little lazy like me, buying pre-cut fruit from the grocery store makes healthy snacking much easier throughout the day.
Hydration is another huge factor in feeling and looking your best. Drinking enough water can help reduce cravings and support glowing skin. I’ll admit, I struggle to drink the recommended eight glasses a day, so I started using large aesthetic cups with straws to make it easier.

Stanley cups are popular, but you can find similar options at places like Target, Ross, Marshall’s, or HomeGoods. Sometimes something as simple as a cute cup can make drinking water feel more enjoyable.
Turning Skincare Into a Ritual
Instead of seeing skincare as a chore, try turning it into a nightly ritual.

Clear your bathroom counter or vanity, light a candle, pull your hair back with a pretty clip or headband, and put on cozy pajamas or a robe. Dedicate at least twenty minutes to caring for your skin.
Some nights I spend closer to an hour, especially when I use my Booster Pro device (which I talk about more in another blog post).
My typical routine includes toner pads, retinol, Collagen Peptide Facial Cream, PDRN Hyaluron Acid Hydrating Capsule Mist, eye cream, brow and lash serums, a hydrating lip mask, and occasionally a collagen mask. Recently, I’ve also switched over to Korean skincare, which I’ve been really enjoying.

I will be writing a blog just on the all my skincare products and routine, stay tuned for that one
Hair Care and Small Efforts
If I still have energy at the end of my routine, I apply either Rogaine for women or rosemary oil to my receding hairline. I’m still hoping to stimulate some growth before eventually committing to a hair transplant.
Small consistent efforts can make a difference over time.
Ending the Day Softly
Once my skincare routine is done, I like to make another cup of chamomile tea and spend a few minutes journaling about my day, tomorrow’s plans, or my long-term goals.

Sometimes I listen to a calming podcast, an audiobook, or rain and spa sounds while falling asleep.
Sleep is incredibly important when it comes to feeling beautiful and rejuvenated.
Supplements for Feeling Your Best
Supplements can also play an important role in supporting your wellness routine. Collagen, in particular, has become a staple for many women focusing on skin, hair, and overall health.
I wrote another blog post sharing the supplements I personally take, which you can read here.
Dress for the Mood You Want

Even small details in how you dress can shift your mindset.
Things like:
• Cute workout sets
• Cozy sweaters
• Pretty hair clips
• Clean sneakers
• Simple contour dresses for warmer weather
You don’t have to spend a lot of money either. I recently found some great everyday dresses on Fashion Nova for around $11 and sandals for $16. Pieces like that are perfect for casual days or low-key date nights.
A simple, soft glam makeup look can also elevate your mood. I like hydrated skin, so I often prep with the Anua PDRN mist before applying makeup. It gives a beautiful dewy finish.
For foundation, I like using thin layers. Two of my favorites are Pat McGrath and TIRTIR. TIRTIR is a Korean brand that’s surprisingly affordable but gives a very luxurious finish with great coverage.
I also love cream and liquid blushes. After applying those, I lightly set my makeup with Mario Dedivanovic powder using a fluffy brush.

Then I finish with lashes—my favorite are KISS Pompadour—plus a little lip gloss.
This entire routine takes about 30 minutes and instantly makes me feel more polished and confident.
Spend Less Time Comparing Yourself Online
Social media can sometimes make aging feel intimidating. Filters, editing, and younger influencers can create unrealistic expectations.
Your soft girl era isn’t about competing with anyone else. It’s about focusing on your own growth, your own health, and your own happiness.
Make Your Home Feel Peaceful
Small changes can turn your home into a sanctuary.
Fresh flowers, clean sheets, candles, and soft lighting can instantly shift the energy of your space and help you feel calmer.
Your 40s Are a Reinvention Era
Your 40s can be one of the most powerful decades of your life.
You’re wiser, more self-aware, and often more intentional about how you spend your time and energy.
Romanticizing your life isn’t about perfection—it’s about appreciating the small moments that make your life feel beautiful.
