Summer Makeup should  always look extremely healthy, showing off the freshest and softest bronzed face. . Naturally, the weather is warmer and your face will naturally produce more oil. Which is why you’d want to minimize any dark shaded contouring techniques, simply tone down the contouring shade to softer browns, and peachy colors.
In this blog post I will be listing some of my favorite Summer Makeup Products, and a couple videos that will show you how to achieve this soft-summer look.
I just love how soft & bronzy her makeup is.
The below video uses all Victoria Secret Makeup Products.  In this post I have included pictures showing the products I have used to recreate this look. The most important part of a sheer, bronzed, and glowing  makeup is proper hydration, priming, and brushes used to blend the products with.
The bristles should be extremely soft because any hard bristles can cause a mini exfoliation on the skin when you begin to blend the products together. I used my Hakuhodo brush just like the makeup artist in the video did for blending. If you do not have one, not to worry you can use any other soft bristled brush. White ones are normally softer. Try MAC cosmetics angled contour brush number #168

MAC Cosmetics Contour White Angled Brush #168

It’s both soft and angled perfect for blending out areas you’d want to  subtly shade in to help add dimension to the face.

These are the key products to a smooth application. The sheer hydrating moisturizer will make sure to keep the skin hydrated but not greasy, and the barrier repair will lock in the moisture and create a smooth silicone based barrier between the skin and makeup. This is important, so that the makeup glides on and stays right above the skin. When using blending techniques the makeup can sometimes be pushed into the skin, and make its way deep into your pores. Clogged pores is definitely something you want to avoid when attempting to achieve this makeup look.

The two foundations I have listed are optional to use. Feel free to use foundations you already have, simply use two shades to help you create the subtle contour effect, and healthy tan look. Remember the lighter shades are used on the center of the face, and darker shade on the outer sides of the face. Another thing to keep in mind is that liquid foundations are better to use when the temperature rises.

Hakuhodo makeup brushes are simply the softest brushes I have come across. Soft brushes are so important when creating sheer makeup looks, and blending technique is the important part of the application. These brushes can put a dent in your wallet. However,  I got little creative with my older brushes that felt a bit rough, and used some of my daughters Johnson’s no more tangles leave-in conditioner on those brushes when I wash them. Once they dry the brushes are extremely soft, and ready to use for any blending technique.

Shimmers are huge when it comes to a summer bronzey makeup. Sometimes they are too pink, white, and don’t always photograph well. I have found two that are the perfect final touch, giving you the that perfect high light.

Luster Sheer & Bronzy Blush by Nars $28.00

A second favorite of mine would be Perfectly Lit by Lorac. It’s an oil free luminizing powder that is just perfect for that sun kissed glow. I’ve used this many time on clients for weddings, and red carpet events. I just love it. Perfect of the face, shoulders, and decolletage area.

Perfectly Lit Oil-free luiminzing powder $32.00 available at Sephora

Finally for an eyeshadow that compliments all eye colors beautifully. Nars Galapagos, is such a beautiful brown with soft gold sparkle. This is one of my absolute favorite eye shadows, like all of Nars cosmetics this shadow is very pigmented. A little bit of this shadow goes a long way. This is perfect for your beautiful summer makeup’s final touch.

Nars Galapagos Eye Shadow available at all Nars Cosmetic counters, and Sephora for $24.00
