Be Red Carpet Ready with the help of Beauty By Audrey and The DollHouse Beauty in Studio City.
With Prom Season 2011 in full bloom, there are so many decisions to be made. Everything from hair, shoes, to that perfect dress, and the fabulous MAKE UP that will beautifully tie it all together. I remember entering that last year of high school every event I wanted to make the most of knowing those would be the ones I’d remember most from my High School years.
Luckily for me I am able to relive many of those moments by helping other fabulous young ladies prepare for such big events. Prom night is totally at the top of that list of events.
One can only wish the internet was so user friendly back then, with Make Up tutorials becoming so easy to find on Youtube these days. That would have saved me from tons of embarrassing pictures. LOL!
I was lucky enough to have my sister help me with my hair and makeup on my Prom. However, if I knew then what I know today I would have blown everyone out of the water. LOL!
I think the common mistake that I’ve witness in regards to Prom Make Up. Is that a lot of girls try to look much older than they really are. Or end up with Rainbow Bright eyeshadow because they try to match their shadow with their dress. Also, maybe forget that they are 17-18 and will have years ahead of them to wear tons of makeup and end up wearing so much of it on Prom Night. LOL!
The key to a fabulous PROM MAKE UP is to keep it simple. Simply enhance your already existing natural beauty.
If you have a few weeks prior to prom it’s perfect timing for putting together mini game plan to ensure that perfect looking skin and makeup for your prom night. This game plan should be inclusive of a skin regimen, consisting of evening, and morning cleansing of the skin. Twice a week exfolation to help rid of any dead cells, and ensure only your best skin to shine through. Daily moisturizing of course! Check out products by my favorite Mario Badescu.
Drink tons of H20 to help flush any toxins, and keep skin nicely hydrated.
Most importantly in your game plan should be time set aside to practice the look you want to try out for your prom night. Look for looks that enhance your best facial features. Youtube is such an amazing tool for makeup tutorials. Practice these looks twice a week. Practice makes perfect and when you practice you can always wash it off when you make a mistake. Not worrying about being rushed for time is the advantage.
I will be posting two videos with my favorite looks for this years proms.
If you’re making a statement with your dress keep the makeup soft and natural. Matching eyeshadow to your dress is so 80’s but if that’s the look you’re going for. Here are two of my favorite looks I took from SEVENTEEN PROM issue with Victoria Justice on the cover.

One last tip that still to this day I can’t live without.
For all you fabulous ladies wearing shorter length dress.
For all the Soccer players, Cheerleaders, Gymnast, Softball, and Basketball players.
I’m sure when you’re very much into sports it’s hard to not get away with scrapes, nicks, and bruises on your legs? Not to worry Salley Hansen is here to save the day.
Find a shade that is perfect for you. Spray on legs about 15mins before you’re ready to step into your dress. Warning. It is a bit messy, so you might want to do this in the rest room. Spray on to the legs or into the palms of your hands and blend with hands on to legs. Blend out and pat dry with an old towel.
Your legs will look amazing!
Hope you enjoyed the above information.
