There’s something about a nighttime skincare routine that feels like a reset.

After a long day, this is the moment I slow down, take care of my skin, and honestly… take care of myself.

In my 40s, my focus has shifted. It’s not just about looking good in the moment — it’s about maintaining healthy, firm, glowing skin long-term.

I don’t use the exact same products every single night, but I’ve found a routine and a rotation that really works for me. So I wanted to share what I actually use, what I switch between, and what’s made the biggest difference in my skin. For many years I was very strict with the products I used mostly medical grade skincare and high end department stores. Truthfully the quaintly of a lot of these products have gone down and the prices keep going up. I need products that are work amazingly, prove good results and are affordable. Occasionally, I’ll splurge with expensive products but I don’t feel obligated anymore. Some of my favorite products are Korean and I have purchased them on titktok shop and amazon. STEP 1: DOUBLE CLEANSE (NON-NEGOTIABLE)

If there’s one thing I will never skip, it’s this.

At night, I always double cleanse to remove:

• makeup

• sunscreen

• buildup from the day

Oil Cleansers I Rotate:

Anua Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil

Take The Day Off cleansing oil by Clinique

I love starting with an oil cleanser because it breaks everything down without stripping my skin. The Anua oil cleanser work amazingly and feels very hydrating.

Second Cleanse:

Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta® AHA/BHA Daily Cleansing Gel

Anua Heartleaf Quercetinol Pore Deep Cleansing Foam

This step leaves my skin feeling clean, but still soft — not tight or dry.

This alone made a huge difference in my skin texture.

STEP 2: TONER (PREP)

This next step I used to skip but have quickly learned that it’s really made a huge difference in my skin with reducing pigmentation, softening my skin and evening out the texture.

It helps:

• rebalance the skin

• prep for serums

My Favorites:

NassifMD® Complexion Perfecting Detoxification Pads

Medicube Toner Pads Kojic Acid Turmeric Clarifying Toner Pads

I’ve really noticed a big difference with the texture and brightness in my skin with these two.

STEP 3: Retinol

This is where I target my main concerns:

• fine lines

• firmness

• overall glow

I am really surprised by how well this retinol works because it is very inexpensive. I use it every other day and right the next day I feel my skin is smoother and my pores look smaller. The powerful ingredients are Pure Vitamin A, Retinol, and Peptides all in one bottle.

RETINOL SHOT Tightening serum

I don’t overload my skin — I keep it intentional.

Consistency here matters more than using 10 different products.

STEP 4: EYE CREAM (DON’T SKIP)

The under-eye area is one of the first places to show aging, so I like to keep it hydrated and smooth. I use this serum under my eyes and on my lids.

RoC Multi Correxion Hydrate + Plump Eye Cream

I gently tap it in — no pulling or dragging.

? STEP 5: MOISTURIZER (SEAL EVERYTHING IN)

This step locks everything in and keeps my skin soft overnight. I’ve have spent thousands of dollars on moisturizers for the face. Looking for the perfect hydrating and softening cream and I was slightly influenced by titok about this one but to my surprise it works wonders and a fraction of the cost. It’s very inexpensive in comparison to what else is out there promising the world when it comes to mature skin. I use this moisturizer day and night. I highly recommend this one. It’s very hydrating, plumping and not greasy.

Anua PDRN Hyaluronic Acid 100 Moisturizing Cream

At this stage in life, hydration is everything for that plump, healthy look.

STEP 6: FACE OIL (MY FAVORITE STEP)

This is where the glow comes in, I switch between an oil ampoule or a spray to lock in all the products and moisture. I also use this spray through out the day to add some moisture when my skin feels a little dry with makeup on.

Anua PDRN Hyaluronic Acid Capsule 100 Serum

COSRX Barrier Cream Face Mist

It gives my skin that:

• soft finish

• hydrated look

• “I take care of myself” glow

OPTIONAL: TOOLS / EXTRA STEPS

Some nights I’ll also use:

• red light therapy

• facial massage

• ice rollers

These aren’t daily, but they definitely elevate results.

You face feels like you got a 300 dollar facial every time you use this. Definitely my favorite skincare tool.

FINAL THOUGHTS (THIS PART BUILDS TRUST)

My routine isn’t about perfection — it’s about consistency.

I’ve learned that taking a few extra minutes at night to care for my skin really adds up over time.

Especially in my 40s, I’m focused on:

• maintaining firmness

• keeping my skin healthy

• and aging in a way that still feels like me

This is what’s been working for me, and I’ll continue sharing what I try, what I love, and what actually makes a difference.
