The Woman Helping Patients Navigate Their Cosmetic Surgery Journey
By Audrey Ortega | LA Beauty Guide

There are countless talented plastic surgeons in Los Angeles, but one thing many prospective patients overlook is the importance of the consultant guiding them through the process.
Recently, I had the opportunity to attend an intimate event hosted by Dr. Desai’s consultant, Ella, who brought together a thoughtfully curated group for an evening centered around beauty, aesthetics, and connection.

While Dr. Desai’s surgical expertise naturally speaks for itself, I was equally impressed by Ella and the role she plays within the practice-helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident as they navigate the surgical process.
More than ten years of experience has given her something difficult to teach: the ability to truly understand what patients are feeling.
More Than Scheduling Appointments
Many people assume a cosmetic surgery consultant simply schedules procedures.
In reality, they’re often the first person patients trust with their biggest insecurities.
Whether someone is considering a facelift, breast surgery, body contouring, or another procedure, they usually arrive with dozens of questions—and often a little anxiety.
An experienced consultant helps translate medical information into real conversations, making patients feel educated rather than overwhelmed.
It’s a role that requires empathy just as much as organization.
A Passion for Beauty Beyond the Office
One detail I especially enjoyed learning was that her passion for beauty doesn’t stop at the practice.
She’s also the founder of Ella Body Fajas, a shapewear line created to help women feel confident and supported in their bodies. It feels like a natural extension of the work she already does—helping women feel their best, both during and beyond their surgical journey.

A Quick Q&A With Ella
I also asked Ella to share a little more about her experience as a cosmetic surgery consultant, what she believes patients should look for when choosing a surgeon, and the inspiration behind Ella Body Fajas.
What’s the most rewarding part of your job?
“Seeing people’s transformations. Seeing them after their procedure and how happy they are with their results—seeing them shine and glow.”
What advice would you give someone considering cosmetic surgery for the first time?
“Do your due diligence and do your research. Go on multiple consultations and factor in everything—the front desk, communication, reviews, before-and-after photos, social media, and the overall vibe of the surgeon. Everything, because it all matters.”
What makes Dr. Desai’s practice unique?
“Dr. Desai’s practice is unique because he’s such a talented and kind person. He is so good at what he does, but he also truly cares about his patients. It makes my job as a consultant so much easier because we have so many happy patients.”
What inspired you to launch your shapewear line?
“I was researching high-quality products for my patients, and while doing that research and reaching out to manufacturers, I saw an opportunity for patients to get these products from a trusted source—which is me. I take a lot of pride in my shapewear line. It’s still growing, and it’s something I’m really looking forward to taking to the next level.”
An Evening Focused on Education and Community
The event itself was beautifully organized.
Rather than feeling like a traditional promotional gathering, it created an atmosphere where women could ask questions, network, learn more about aesthetic procedures, and connect with professionals within the beauty industry.
As someone who writes about plastic surgery and cosmetic treatments, I appreciate events that encourage education over sales.
The conversations throughout the evening reminded me why I enjoy covering this industry.
When experienced professionals openly share their knowledge, patients ultimately benefit.
Why Patient Experience Matters
Choosing a plastic surgeon isn’t only about before-and-after photos.
It’s also about the experience surrounding the procedure—from the initial consultation to recovery.
Having an experienced consultant who understands both the emotional and practical side of cosmetic surgery can make a significant difference in a patient’s journey.
After spending the evening with Ella, it’s easy to see how her experience and approach can help patient feel supported throughout their surgical journey.

I look forward to seeing what future events they host and continuing to highlight professionals who are helping elevate patient education within aesthetic medicine.
