For a female that is in her 40’s, I think I have establish a good foundation on how to achieve healthy looking skin.
First things first. You want to detox, if you’re not drinking enough water it’s best to start making it a priority on a daily basis.
Proper hydration can help your skin look plump and radiant. It’s a good idea to buy big water bottles to ensure you are drinking at least 8 glasses of H20 every day.
You will feel healthier just by drinking water reguarly. Avoiding alcohol and caffeine are vital for good skin health. Dehydrated skin can make your skin looked wrinkled, dull and grey, or bloated and puffy. The diuretic effect causes your skin loses fluid and nutrients. . This goes the same for sugar and dairy.
I know this may be hard to avoid everything at once, you don’t have to, just make sure it is all consumed in moderation.
Choosing the right skincare products for you skin type can be a little challenging. A lot of it is trial and error considering there are so many products out there, you have to see what works for you and what doesn’t.
I am happy to share what my skincare routine with you.
You want to begin your regime with Double Cleansing, it is essential for removing makeup, oil, sweat, dirt and other impurities that can clog pores and lead to breakouts. This step is for nighttime or anytime you need to remove any makeup.
For the first cleanser you want something oil based like INTENDED Simply You facial cleansing oil. It’s hydrating and you can really feel it removing makeup and any other oil and debris. Next I use a gentle cleanser by Youth To The People, Super Food Cleanser. I really love this cleanser, you’re skin feels soft and looks really clean even if it’s your first time using it.
The third step in your skincare routine is the perfect opportunity to incorporate a toner. My favorite is the Obagi Complexion Renewal Pads, which have significantly improved my skin tone and reduced the appearance of pores. To maximize their value, I cut the pads in half, doubling their use without compromising effectiveness.
SuperFood Air-Whip is my favorite moisturizer. It’s lightweight yet incredibly hydrating, and you can feel your skin instantly absorbing it for a boost of moisture. It works beautifully as a primer, creating the perfect base before layering a richer day or night cream.
For step five, I apply a day or night cream. I don’t always repurchase the same one unless I’m absolutely obsessed with it, but I always choose products that help reverse the signs of aging and are ideal for mature skin.
Right now for a day cream, I’m using It Cosmetics Confidence in a Cream, and I absolutely love it. I’ve been using it for a while now, and it leaves my skin feeling soft, smooth, and incredibly healthy-looking. I definitely recommend giving this cream a try!
For my night cream I use is Talllow & Honey Balm by Based Supplies. Trending products can be hit or miss, but this one is a definite must-have. It’s versatile too—you can use it on your lips, hands, and, of course, your face!
You’ve probably seen this product all over Instagram, so I decided to try it for myself—and I absolutely love it. It’s a balm, so it has a slightly greasy texture, making it perfect as a night cream. The best part? I don’t even need a separate eye cream when using it. However, I do use Cumber De-Tox Hydra Gel eye patches by Thomas Roth. It comes in a 30pack.
It’s important to remember your neck and chest when doing your skincare. I found this amazing lotion by Nivea.
Skin Firming & Anti-Wrinkle Neck & Chest Cream You can apply this cream day and night.
To finish my routine, I like to set everything with the It Cosmetics Your Skin But Better Hydrating Mist. I use it both at night as part of my skincare routine and in the morning before and after applying makeup. Throughout the day, I also spritz it to refresh my makeup and boost hydration. Makeup can sometimes leave your skin feeling dry, but just a couple of mists of this product instantly restores a dewy, fresh look and feel.
