It should come to a surprise that you DON’T have to be a professional MakeUp Artist to apply makeup like one.

Lets face it! The world of makeup is like living in a real life fairy tale. You have the ability to play up or down your looks. Slimming down cheeks, jaw lines, and noses for a sexy sultry look. Or adding prosthetics like a crazy big nose, and horns for a Halloween costume.

What ever type of make up you wish to learn more about there are so many great books, websites, and tutorials on YouTube that can help. Why not learn these amazing celebrity makeup artist techniques, and work them into our everyday makeup routine?

All you really need is practice, patience, and a little bit of research.

Here are my top Makeup books, websites, and of course YouTube!

Making Faces
by Kevyn Aucoin was the first book, and only book I needed to confirm that I had a true passion for MakeUp Artistry, and I needed to make makeup a full time career.

Available at most bookstores and Amazon.Com for $15.00

I’ll be honest! When I first picked up this book all the lines, and different colored “foundations”, which I later found out was contouring made no sense to me. I had no idea what any of it meant but knew that transformations he made were simply amazing. I would look at the pictures hours on end, and try to duplicate it on myself. When I first picked up this book YouTube wasn’t as popular, or maybe not even around at that time.

Now we all have the advantage of searching for video tutorials on YouTube if were not clear on certain techniques.

The next top listed book for me would be BOBBI BROWNS MAKEUP MANUAL.

Available at most book stores like Amazon.com for $22.00

This book is amazing! Starting at the root of beauty and discussing the importance of nutrition, hydration, and even exercise. Also, the step by step pictures for different makeup applications are very helpful.

Bobbi Browns products are simply amazing! All focus on hydrating and priming the skin. Her technique is different and very efficient. Her steps are set up in a way that you may not need all the steps or product you originally anticipated.

The outcome of all her makeup applications are always very natural, sun kissed like, dewy, and very beautiful.

Last but never the least of my top favorite makeup books, ABOUT FACE by SCOTT BARNES

To learn more about Scott's book, othe products, and him? Click on image to stop by his site.

This man is absolutely amazing! He’s famous for so many beautiful faces. Jennifer Lopez is just one of the many. He pretty much started the bronzey, and monochromatic styled makeup. His technique consist of using mostly cream products. This technique ensures that the skin stays dewy, and soft.

There are so many other amazing makeup books to choose from. These top 3 are my personal favorite, and feel they are most detailed in explaining complicated makeup techniques.

A lot of my techniques and different styles were developed through many helpful websites, and countless hours spent on YouTube learning from other artist as they share through helpful tutorials.

In my journey of learning about makeup I’ve spent a lot of money on product that I didn’t end up liking or using. Now! Thanks to WWW.MAKEUPALLEY.COM I can search the product I am interested in purchasing, and read reviews before spending any money.

Click to visit MakeUp alley to set up your account.

Another great site would be www.temptalia.com
This site has daily reviews on the latest products, and collections that have just hit stores.
You can also view the many tutorials she has.

YouTube! My top place for makeup tutorials.

Be productive while you lay by the pool this summer. Pick up a few good books, and look up videos on your Ipads. You can always see if your local MAC stores, or other beauty supply stores have any makeup workshops going on. WWW.Naimies.COM is always having all kinds of fun workshops for under $40.
