As we all may know… That if you buy a blush brush you don’t just have to use it just for your blush. It’s always an objective of mine to use a brush for more than one makeup application. I recently thought of using lip brushes for my eye makeup and quickly fell in love with the results I got. I will show you which brushes I used, and how I used them. The bristles are softer, and are always at the perfect angle to fit confined areas like the edges around the inner corner of your eyes.
I’ll begin with MUD lip brush #310
After my base ( makeup foundation) and eye makeup are applied. I like to wipe around my eyes to make sure I’ve cleaned off any makeup that could have fallen underneath my eyes.
Wiping the under eye area after any eye makeup is applied, will ensure a clean concealer application around and under the eye area.
A great makeup tip!
Prior to applying concealer and after wiping any makeup under the eyes. Apply a little primer. The primer of choice for this application.
A primer application will create a soft and silky like base for the concealer application.
After applying the primer you want to pick up your #310 MUD lip brush or any brush similar to it, and apply your favorite concealer beginning from the inner eye corners working your way to your outer eye corners. It would be ideal to apply very little but spread out as evenly as possible.
Before setting your under eye makeup. Make sure to blend the makeup with a tapered blending brush of any kind. Here are some examples of what a tapered blending brush may look like.
Make sure that after picking a blending brush that the bristles are soft to ensure a smooth blend.
If you feel you’ve blended to far down to your cheeks not to worry. Simply set with translucent powder or any sheer pressed powder you may have. Apply a soft pinkish blush to the apple of your cheeks and no one will ever know all the effort that went into creating your fabulous new look 🙂
Another fabulous lip brush I love for my potted, gel eyeliner is MAC brush #318. It’s firm but not to firm, and still very flexible for curving gently around your lash line.
These brushes, and steps work amazingly for me because they allow me to make mistakes…Also known as “discoveries” and not ruin an entire makeup application.
Simply wipe off any smudges, primer the area and continue to your next step.
Remember that THERE ARE NO RULES to makeup. It’s simply a matter of figuring out what works best FOR YOU.
