Protein smoothies are a good way to lose weight when they are made with wholesome ingredients. It’s the perfect weight loss meal.

Eating more protein makes it much easier to stick to any weight loss diet — be it high-carb, low-carb or something in between. According to these studies, a protein intake of around 30% of calories may be optimal for weight loss. This amounts to 150 grams per day for someone on a 2000-calorie diet

This power smoothie recipe has 36grams protein.

The super star food here is Kale.

Kale is one of the most nutritious foods and often been labeled a superfood. It can be eaten raw, steamed sautéed, boiled or blended into a smoothie. Kale makes a great addition to almost any diet. Kale contains high levels of vitamins minerals and brain boosting phytonutrients.

To be able to harness the benefits of a green smoothie, we need to drink it more than once.

3 to 4 days a week is recommended to show results of a leaner body, glowing skin, lots of energy and a healthy immune system

It’s important that the smoothies taste good and are easy to make.

In order to make a tasty green smoothie you absolutely must have a high-speed blender like a Vitamix, Blendtec or Clean blend blender. I did plenty of research on the best blenders  and I found Clean Blend Blender.  It was between the vitamix and clean blend. Lucky for me the clean blend was on sale and I was able to purchase this fantastic blender for under 200 dollars.

I love it, its one of my most favorite house hold appliances.

I spent a lot of time doing research and reading reviews.

It has a 3hp motor and the perfect blades for making all kinds of smoothies. I love my smoothies to be thick and frothy. I put all soft foods and liquids at the bottom and slowly blend till it’s completely creamy.

For this smoothie recipe all my organic produce and protein powders are from Whole Foods. Here are some of the powders and hemp seeds I use for this power smoothie.

Protein Blends in this protein powder include Pea Protein, Organic Hemp Seed Protein, Sacha Inchi seed protein. Green Blends in this protein powder include spinach powder, broccoli powder, organic Alfalfa powder and organic kale powder.

Hemp Hearts makes the most delicious hemp seeds that are soft and nutty. Adds lots of nutrition to your smoothies and salads. As you can see just 3 table spoons are loaded with 10grams of protein and 12grams of omegas.

It was important for me to include ingredients that taste good and are good for you as well.

In this smoothie there is lots of protein, dietary fiber, dairy free calcium,  Bromelain and high sources of vitamin A, B6 and C.

Manganese in bananas is good for your skin. Potassium is also found in bananas. Potassium is one of the most important minerals in the body. It helps regulate fluid balance, muscle contractions and nerve signals. What’s more, a high-potassium diet may help reduce blood pressure and water retention, protect against a stroke, prevent osteoporosis and kidney stones.

Bromelain is found in this smoothie from the pineapples.

Bromelain is promoted as a dietary supplement for reducing pain and swelling, especially of the nose and sinuses, gums, and other body parts after surgery or injury. It is also promoted for osteoarthritis, cancer, digestive problems, and muscle soreness. Topical bromelain is promoted for burns. This is excellent to prepare and recover from surgery.

In addition, phosphorus helps to:

  • build strong teeth.
  • manage how your body stores and uses energy.
  • reduce muscle pain after exercise.
  • filter out waste in your kidneys.
  • grow, maintain, and repair tissue and cells.
  • produce DNA and RNA — the body’s genetic building blocks.

This is a great recipe to help in any weight loss program or satisfy all your detoxing needs. I don’t like to put too much pressure on my self when I begin new healthy habits. I don’t like to discourage myself by putting myself through unnecessary torture to keep me from cravings. I take things slow and do lots of pre mediation. I’ve turned Friday nights and Saturday days as my official cheat days. We work hard all week, we need a little celebration without dietary restrictions. Food is such a great and fun way to socialize. Still I like to keep boundaries and keep cheat foods as a bare minimum on weekdays.

I hope you enjoy these health tips and recipe.
