Makeup in the summer should be kept to a bare minimal. Using just enough makeup to even out natural skin tones, and bring a touch of glow to the face.
This makeup routine is perfect for moms on the go, and professional working women that have little to no time, to spare. It’s a proven fact that looking, and feeling good will conduct positive energies for us women, and we’re always sure to a have better day.
When I’m fighting a bug or not feeling the best, I always try to compensate the sad moods by putting together a pretty face. I find the makeup application to be therapeutic as I apply it, and begin to see the transformation take place.
For this particular application I will be using under 10 makeup products. Sounds like a lot but this will be inclusive of:
-
Tinted moisturizer By Kiehl’s in medium.
-
Setting powder MAC NC40 Select Sheer Pressed.
-
Blush NARS Amour
-
Bronzer (Optional) NARS Irresistiblement
-
Mascara any kind will do.
-
Eyeliner (Optional) I prefer Urban Decay 24/7
-
Brow Pencil Spiked or Lingering from MAC are usually the best.
These are essential products that should be in your personal beauty kit. You can use these daily, and can create the perfect base to any glamorous or evening makeup.
You will want to begin with a clean, and lightly moisturized face.
Using a tinted moisturizer a shade darker than your skin tone, allows for a full coverage and the possible elimination of needing a concealer.
Apply tinted moisturizer on to tips of your fingers, and apply like any other moisturizer. Making sure to really work in the product with massage like techniques. This allows for the product to activate with the warmth of your hands, and really blend into the skin.
Once the foundation is evenly distributed, and brought down to the neck area. Don’t worry about setting just yet.
Next you’ll take your favorite blush, and a small fluffy, blush brush.
The pictures shown above is a little exaggerated just to show where the blush should be placed. The blush application is different from the contour or bronzer application. Which in this case the blush goes above the bronzer application, and depending on how much time you have? The bronzer would be considered optional.
In addition to the blush application, you would want to pick up your fan brush and gently pick up some bronzer. Lightly drag or stipple the fan brush with product right under the blush application.
Just a few more steps from completing your fresh, and summer makeup look.
With time this process will become less time consuming. It’s just a matter of building your confidence level, and skills. Practice always makes perfect.
The following would require you to pick up a setting powder of your choice. It can be loose or pressed. I prefer pressed it’s practical and increases time efficiency. I have selected MAC NC40 Select Sheer in pressed form.
Applying setting powders on the Tzone area only. This will keep the makeup looking natural, and show off natural oils in desired areas causing a natural glowing effect. Apply with a dense small brush for a concentrated application to desired Tzone areas only. Particularly under the eyes to stabilize makeup, and prevent creasing.
Two more steps and you are done.
Groomed Brows:
Using a mascara brow brush to brush brow hair into place. Clean or trim any stray hairs.Using brow pencil a shade darker to help fill, and define brows. MAC brow pencils seem to be the smoothest for the brows. My two favorite MAC brow pencils are Spiked, and Lingering. Gently follow the direction of the brow hair just to fill any bare areas. Brush back with mascara wands to blend.
Final two steps would be a mascara application, and lip gloss of your choice.
With practice this look shouldn’t take you longer than 10mins. It is perfect for everyday, and can be bumped up to any glamorous or evening look.
You can add a bold lip, false lashes, or smoke out the eyes. It’s a very flexible look.
Hope you found this information beneficial, and enjoy your summer.
