Surgery Pre-Op

LA Beauty Guide is committed to ensuring that our patients have the best experience possible when they create their own custom surgical program that emphasizes a world class pre and post operative nutritional program for the best surgical results, with maintenance to boot!

First things first: no harmful substances! This includes tobacco, alcohol and drugs! All of
those will affect your body negatively & make it much harder for your body to recover from
surgery. You want your body in the best possible condition before your procedure.

Proper Pre-surgery nutrition is essential. Every single one of our patients are assigned custom diets designed to build up your immune system & boost recovery time. Our custom diets  include all the necessary vegetables & proteins your body needs to prepare for strain surgery can  cause. All our custom pre & post-op diets are curated by top Beverly Hills nutritionists. We  highly recommend our patients start this diet 2 weeks prior to having their elective procedure.

Protein is one of the major components to a speedy recovery. Protein provides the building blocks for our muscles, bones & our immune system; you want to be as strong as possible before going into surgery.

We have included a post-op diet is also available for our liposuction and Vaser patients to help maintain and maximize body contouring results.

Quick Tip

Stock up on fruits and vegetables.

You will want to include fruits and vegetables during most meals and snacks; more specifically, aim for greens. Greens are great for healthy skin, bones, cartilage & muscle repair due to many vitamins & minerals they contain.

Vitamin C, vitamin K, magnesium, folate, iron & calcium are some of nutrients that greens provide.

Next we need to talk about stress and how it will hinder your surgical recovery. Excess  stress may affect your bodies ability to heal itself due to symptoms like high blood pressure or stress induced obesity. Finding healthy, natural ways to deal with daily stress should be part of your surgery preparation. There are many ways to manage stress, the key is to find something  that works for you. The following are some suggestions:

  • Taking a long, relaxing bath at the end of the day
  • Call a supportive friend or family member when you are feeling overwhelmed
  • Yoga, tai chi or meditation
  • Exercise (please note that we have fitness programs that cater to our patient’s unique
    lifestyle)

Most importantly of all: SLEEP! Sleep is the primary way your body rejuvenates itself.

In the weeks leading up to your surgery, make sure you get eight hours of sleep to reinforce your immune system. Also, I cannot stress this enough: avoid alcohol, nicotine & drugs when dealing with stress. If you continue these practices post-surgery, you will be back at 100% in no time!

always tell my patients to take 3 days to recover from their surgery by putting on comfy clothes & stock up on a bunch of movies or binge on a good Netflix series.

When preparing for facial or breast surgeries, we encourage our patients to consider starting a consistent skincare regime. Zo Skincare by Oagi is a medical grade skin care line that have fascinated our patients the moment they try their amazing products. All Zo products are a great option to prep skin and use post operatively, as well as a long-term skin care routine.
